ABSENT SEMILUNAR VALVES 13 WKS

Findings and description

Antegrade and retrograde flow noted in both outflow tracts.

LVOT and RVOT showing bidirectional flow on spectral Doppler.

Important ultrasound features

4CH view is be normal

Outflow tracts are also of normal caliber

Typical bidirectional flow is obvious finding on Color Doppler and spectral Doppler

Bidirectional flow across pulmonary and aortic valve favors valvular pathology like agenesis/ grossly

dysplastic valves.

Tricuspid regurgitation is also noted.

There is diffuse subcutaneous edema over fetal entire fetal body.

Underlying aneuploidy is highly likely in such cases.

Diagnostic Implications:

For absent semilunar valves detected on antenatal ultrasound, key considerations include:

– Potentially indicates serious cardiac developmental anomalies

– May suggest significant congenital heart defect requiring detailed evaluation

Recommended Follow-up:

– Fetal echocardiography for comprehensive cardiac assessment

– Detailed anatomical scan

– Potential genetic screening

– Consultation with pediatric cardiologist

Possible Associated Conditions:

– Congenital heart defects

– Chromosomal abnormalities

– Syndromic presentations

Prognosis Factors:

– Extent of cardiac malformation

– Associated structural anomalies

– Early detection and intervention potential

Management Approach:

– Multidisciplinary team assessment

– Detailed pregnancy monitoring

– Potential perinatal surgical planning

– Postnatal cardiac intervention may be required

Precise diagnosis and comprehensive evaluation are critical for optimal management of this significant prenatal finding.
